Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 4, 2026
Fleurette Budget ("Fleurette Budget," "we," "us," or "our") is a budgeting and expense-tracking application for iPhone, iPad and Mac, developed by Hiva Javaher. This Privacy Policy explains what information the Fleurette Budget app and this website (fleurette.app/budgeting-expenses) collect, how it is used, and the choices you have. We built Fleurette Budget to be radically private — local-first, with no accounts and no servers — and this policy reflects that.
1. Our privacy promise
Your money is personal. Everything you record in Fleurette Budget — your transactions, amounts, payees, notes, categories, budgets, bills, goals, and the statistics we calculate from them — stays on your device. There are no user accounts, and there is no Fleurette Budget server that receives your financial data. We do not run advertising, we do not use third-party analytics or tracking SDKs inside the app, and we never sell your information. Your amounts never leave your device except into your own private iCloud, if you choose to enable it.
2. Information the app collects
Financial & budgeting data (stored locally)
As you use the app, Fleurette Budget stores the data you enter — transactions, amounts, payees, notes, categories, budgets, envelopes, bills, savings goals, debts, and settings — locally on your device. This data is used only to power the app's own features on your device (budgets, the Bloom number, gardens, reports, and on-device insights). It is not transmitted to us. There is no account to create, and no login that sends your data anywhere.
Optional private iCloud sync
If you enable iCloud sync (a Budget+ feature, off by default), your own data is synced through your personal iCloud private database so it is available across your own devices. This data is stored in your iCloud account under Apple's terms; we cannot read it, and it is never shared with other users or used for comparison. Sync uses your private CloudKit database only — never a public or shared one. It also keeps the Apple Watch app in step through this same private iCloud.
Apple Watch & Siri (Budget+)
The Apple Watch app and native Siri & Shortcuts are Budget+ features and introduce no new data collection. The Watch app reads your own data from your private iCloud (your CloudKit private database) and does not send anything to a Fleurette Budget server, because there isn't one. The link between your iPhone and Apple Watch (WatchConnectivity) carries only a tiny status handshake — your entitlement, a sync flag, and cosmetic theme/redact preferences — and never a financial record. Siri uses on-device App Intents: no network calls and no off-device inference.
On-device intelligence
Fleurette Budget's insights and any AI features run entirely on your device and make zero network calls. They work only with data already on your device; nothing about your finances is sent off the device to generate them.
Optional currency-rate lookup
If you use more than one currency, the app can fetch anonymous, public exchange-rate data. This lookup is off by default, carries no personal or financial information (it requests only generic rate data), and is the only outbound network request the app makes apart from your own optional iCloud sync and Apple-handled purchases.
Importing your own files
You can import CSV, OFX, or QIF files and scan receipts. All of this parsing happens on your device; imported files and receipts are never uploaded to us.
3. Information we do not collect
- No accounts, no logins, and no server that receives your financial data.
- No bank connections, no Plaid, no aggregators, and no third-party financial data brokers.
- No advertising identifiers, ad networks, or behavioral tracking.
- No third-party analytics SDKs embedded in the app.
- No selling, renting, or sharing of personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.
- No collection of contacts, location, microphone, or camera data (receipt scanning uses the camera only at your request, on device, and images are not uploaded).
4. This website and our newsletter
This website is a static site. Our host may process standard server logs (such as IP address and request information) for security and reliability; we do not use these for advertising. The site uses no advertising or tracking cookies.
If you choose to join our newsletter, the email address you submit is processed and stored by our email provider, MailerLite, solely so we can send you Fleurette news and updates. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email. See MailerLite's privacy practices at mailerlite.com/legal/privacy-policy. We do not use your newsletter email for any other purpose, and it is never linked to your financial data (which we never receive).
5. Subscriptions and purchases
Fleurette Budget is free to use, with an optional Budget+ subscription that begins with a free trial and then auto-renews. All purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store. We do not receive or store your payment card details. Apple provides us with limited, aggregate transaction and subscription-status information needed to deliver the service. Apple's handling of your data is governed by Apple's privacy policy.
6. Children's privacy
Fleurette Budget is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us personal information (for example, by subscribing to the newsletter), contact us and we will delete it.
7. Your rights and choices
Because your app data is stored locally, you are in control of it:
- Access & deletion (app): You can edit or delete your data in the app at any time, and deleting the app removes its local data from your device. iCloud data can be removed through your device's iCloud settings. You can export everything to CSV or an encrypted backup whenever you like.
- Newsletter: Unsubscribe at any time via the link in any email, or contact us to be removed.
- California residents (CCPA/CPRA): You have the right to know what personal information we collect, to request deletion, and to opt out of "sale" or "sharing" of personal information. We do not sell or share your personal information. To exercise these rights, email us at the address below.
- Other U.S. state privacy laws: Where applicable, you may have similar rights of access, correction, and deletion. We honor verifiable requests regardless of your state.
We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of these rights.
8. Data security
Local data is protected by your device's account, disk, and Data Protection safeguards. Data in transit to your iCloud or our newsletter provider is encrypted using industry-standard TLS, and encrypted backup files you create use modern authenticated encryption. Because we operate no server and hold none of your financial data, there is simply nothing on our side to breach. No method of storage or transmission is 100% secure, but we keep the data we touch to an absolute minimum precisely to reduce risk.
9. International users
Fleurette Budget is operated from the United States. If you access the app or site from outside the U.S., the limited data described above (for example, a newsletter email) may be processed in the United States or other countries where our providers operate. Your financial data, however, stays on your device and your own iCloud.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will revise the "Last updated" date above and, for material changes, provide a more prominent notice where appropriate. Continued use after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
