Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 15, 2026
Fleurette ("Fleurette," "we," "us," or "our") is a typing-practice app for macOS and iPadOS, built and operated by an independent software studio. This Privacy Policy explains how the Fleurette app and this website (fleurette.app) handle information, how it is used, and the choices you have. We built Fleurette to be local-first and private by design — with no accounts and no servers, and this policy reflects that.
1. Our privacy promise
Your typing is personal. Everything you do in Fleurette — the passages you practice, your keystrokes, your speed, accuracy, and the statistics we calculate from them — stays on your device. There is no account to create and no Fleurette server that receives your typing data — we collect none of it. We do not run advertising, we do not use third-party analytics or tracking SDKs inside the app, and we never sell your information.
2. What the app stores
Practice & statistics data (stored locally)
As you practice, Fleurette records lightweight data about your typing — for example timing of keypresses, which characters were correct or incorrect, words-per-minute, accuracy, reaction time, and your progress, streaks, levels, and achievements. This data is stored locally on your device and is used only to power your in-app statistics and to choose adaptive practice tailored to you. The text of what you type is practice from public-domain books; we do not transmit your keystrokes or any raw typed text off your device.
Optional iCloud sync
If you enable iCloud sync, your own progress and aggregate statistics are synced through your personal iCloud private database so they are available across the Macs and iPads you own. This data is stored in your iCloud account under Apple's terms; we cannot read it, and it is never shared with other users or used for comparison.
3. Information we do not collect
- No advertising identifiers, ad networks, or behavioral tracking.
- No third-party analytics SDKs embedded in the app.
- No selling, renting, or sharing of personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.
- No collection of contacts, location, microphone, or camera data.
4. This website and our newsletter
When you visit this website, our hosting provider may process standard server logs (such as IP address and request information) to keep the site secure and reliable; we do not use these for advertising, and the site sets no advertising or tracking cookies.
If you choose to join our newsletter, the email address you submit is processed and stored by our email provider, MailerLite, solely so we can send you Fleurette news and updates. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email. See MailerLite's privacy practices at mailerlite.com/legal/privacy-policy. We do not use your newsletter email for any other purpose. We process it on the basis of your consent, keep it only until you unsubscribe, and — if you are in the EEA or UK — you may withdraw consent at any time or lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority.
If you send us a message through the contact form on this website, the name, email address, and message you provide are transmitted through our form provider, Web3Forms, solely to deliver your message to us by email. The message is not stored on this website. See Web3Forms' privacy practices at web3forms.com/privacy. We use this information only to reply to you.
5. Subscriptions and purchases
Fleurette is offered with a free trial followed by an auto-renewing subscription. All purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store. We do not receive or store your payment card details. Apple provides us with limited, aggregate transaction and subscription-status information needed to deliver the service. Apple's handling of your data is governed by Apple's privacy policy.
6. Children's privacy
Fleurette is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us personal information (for example, by subscribing to the newsletter), contact us and we will delete it.
7. Your rights and choices
Because your app data is stored locally, you are in control of it:
- Access & deletion (app): You can clear your statistics in the app, and deleting the app removes its local data from your device. iCloud data can be removed through your device's iCloud settings.
- Newsletter: Unsubscribe at any time via the link in any email, or contact us to be removed.
- California residents (CCPA/CPRA): You have the right to know what personal information we collect, to request deletion, and to opt out of "sale" or "sharing" of personal information. We do not sell or share your personal information. To exercise these rights, email us at the address below.
- Other U.S. state privacy laws: Where applicable, you may have similar rights of access, correction, and deletion. We honor verifiable requests regardless of your state.
- EU/UK (GDPR): Because your app data stays on your device and is never transmitted to us, we do not act as a controller of it; any processing you perform happens on your own device. For the limited newsletter email we do process, you have rights of access, correction, and erasure, plus the right to withdraw consent or complain to a supervisory authority — contact us to exercise them.
We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of these rights.
8. Data security
Local data is protected by your device's account and disk protections. Data in transit to iCloud or our newsletter provider is encrypted using industry-standard TLS. No method of storage or transmission is 100% secure, but we keep the data we touch to a minimum precisely to reduce risk.
9. International users
Fleurette is operated from the United States. If you access the app or site from outside the U.S., the limited data described above (for example, a newsletter email) may be processed in the United States or other countries where our providers operate.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will revise the "Last updated" date above and, for material changes, provide a more prominent notice where appropriate. Continued use after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
